Mr. Gilbert has been advising clients since 1996. Before founding Commonwealth Financial Group Mr. Gilbert held senior positions with a major brokerage firm as well as with a large insurance firm.

Mr. Gilbert is chairman of the Commonwealth Cares Foundation, a non-profit organization that was founded specifically to give back to the local community. Mr. Gilbert is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. Britt is married to Heather Gilbert and they live on Daniel Island, South Carolina with their two daughters, Evan and Elle. During his free time Britt enjoys golfing, running, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
